It is THE toughest injury for an NFL player to return from.

"The researchers found that players who had knee surgeries experienced the most significant decline in performance...
Yes, as far as I know he is the only person in the history of the NFL that has made a pro bowl (and he made 2 of them) after a ruptured patellar. He clearly worked his butt off to get back.
He was a class act his entire time here, was misused for 3 years and never once complained. Ton of...
Couldn't agree more. It would be like trading for Tom Brady and asking him to run the read option over and over.
Graham's average air yards per target was a career low 7.6 yards in 2017, Luke Willson was 7.0, Vannett 7.2
2016: JG, 9.4. Luke 8.1
2015: JG 9.2, Luke 7.8
2014: Luke 9.8
For...
The biggest detriment to the Hawks run game is and always will be Tom Cable and the Oline play/development.
$9mil LT, $8 mil LG, $9mil C, 2nd round RG, 1st round RT.
You are placing the biggest detriment to the run game to a pass catching TE, when ample money/resources have been allocated...
I'll stick with offensively:
-A competent Oline, Oline coach/scheme
-Aggressive play calling
-Playcalling to win instead of playcalling to not lose (huge difference)
-Not forcing your pass catching TE to block at the point of attack, and using said TE in ways to succeed based on his skillset...
So just to clarify, you don't think RW needs to work on anything besides the Hawks having a better oline?
For all of lukerguy's analysis, you have such a hard on for RW that you can't even have a discussion about improving his mechanics? Everyone in the NFL can improve on their skills...
Zach was never an all pro, and was never traded. He signed here as a free agent.
I think you may be getting miller and Graham confused, except for the bevelled/cabled part.
Soooo, we agree, he's not a system fit? And as bad as that fit was, he still is the most productive TE in Hawks history? Not bad for someone who disappears for entire games and mopes around all the time. Yea, a super bowl wasn't in play for 2017, but it isn't for 31 teams.
The stats don't...
But you're also missing....none of those players would be the same in this system, with this OL. System fit is paramount for production, and none would put up the same stats here they do on their teams.
There has never been a TE that has ever received 100 targets in Hawks history. All the...
Hawks would save $2.08 million if he were to retire.....
but that is 100% not going to happen as his 2018 base salary of $6.8 million fully guarantees on 2/9/18, which is frankly already guaranteed for injury (along with $5.2 million of his 2019 base salary). He would be giving up $12...
I think you franchise him in 2018, make him have to work hard another year to get paid and then let him walk in '19 and receive a comp pick in 2020

I would think pretty much every other team in the NFL knows how to use him better than the Hawks did for most of his time here.
