Maybe we will go big after Henry. He could fit in nicely here.

Too old.

I say we go for D’Ernst Johnson. His career YPC behind Chubb & Hunt was 5.2, in 2021 he got good playing time in just 3 games, and rushed for 146 yds (22 carries), 99 yds (19 carries), 123 yds (25 carries). Guy has a lot in the tank since he’s barely seen the field behind the other two backs and might be cheap enough to get as a pretty good #2.

Just feels like overall the pick was a bust. Possibly a reach for when we took him. Flashed at points but couldn't stay healthy. Didn't we pick him over Chubb?
The pick made sense at the time. Penny had insane measurables, no injury history, and low miles.

Chubb had high miles and an injury history. Obviously that hasn’t held him back.

The biggest criticism is that as a rookie Penny reported out of shape and I believe there were reports about horrible nutritional habits.

Arguably that’s on both the team and the player to have corrected before the season.

I was concerned at the time that he never went to a power 5 school. It just felt at the time that he was taken too high. He flashed at times but Chris Carson was more productive for us as a 6th round pick despite his own injuries.

Bijan won’t be available at 20 I don’t think, so probably won’t matter. We need to sign a vet for cheap that’s good on 3rd and short and maybe draft a late round RB, don’t waste a high pick considering it’s honestly the lowest paid position and has such a high injury risk that it’s not a good investment

Pretty sure Igwebuike is under contract. He's on the current roster

Bummed about Penny. Was hoping he'd having an All Pro year and stay healthy. Anybody know what his guaranteed money is? All the other stuff is fluff

I’d love Jamaal Williams but he might be a little expensive after last season. We do need a big back though. All of our RBs have been injured this past season and Dallas is the “bigger” back of the three but I don’t think he necessarily always runs that way. Homer is a nice 3rd down back but if Bijan is there at 20 you take the talent available imo. He’s a bell cow and reinforces the smash mouth ball Pete wants. Walker is a stud but I feel like his frame might be a problem as the seasons go on.

I like Penny but let's be honest. Dude just can't seem to stay healthy. Good luck to him.

I really hope so. (At least for KR/PR duties) I couldn’t remember if he was or wasn’t.

otc.com shows Godwin I. as a ERFA, and as far as I know, he hasn't been offered a contract yet... and the deadline is tomorrow.

If we don't tender him an offer, he's free to sign anywhere after tomorrow.

That’s what I thought. I hope they keep him. I prefer him over Dallas.

Why don't we just swap backs with them? Miles Sanders to Seattle!

Bad result, good process.

Chubb's entire left knee had exploded in college - dislocation, cartilage damage, and tears of the ACL, MCL, and PCL. Penny had not had any major injuries in college.

All good policies can do is improve a team's probability of making successful picks.

If the same situation were to come up again, I'd want the Seahawks to do exactly the same thing.
