Geno went 98 yards against the Rams in 2021 after Russ faltered and then got injured. It was luck, they said.

Tyler fell down and the ball got picked to end the game. "Geno doing Geno things," they said.

He decimated Jacksonville. "That's just the Jaguars," they said.

Geno did well in camp. "That's just media/team spin," they said.

Geno did well in preseason. "No he didn't. More Lock!" they said, as Lock floats another pass to a CB.

Geno did well to open the year. "He didn't do well enough late, and the Broncos lost the game," they said.

Geno, and the entire team, failed against San Fran. "SEE! SEE! Lock!!," they said.

Geno opened it up and put together an objectively very good game against Atlanta. "Atlanta sucks and he didn't do it in the quarter I wanted him to do it in," they said.

Geno puts on an absolutely spectacular game against Detroit, overcoming an absolute sieve of a defense and scoring enough to win, including in the fourth.

There can be no doubt left. The job is Geno's this year. Even the tones here are starting to change. Can't imagine it'd be very popular to make up sniveling little nicknames about the guy now, as he continues to be one of the best players on the team.

One game (or even 4) does not make a great QB. Two weeks ago everyone was complaining that Geno hadn't been able to lead the offense to score a single point in 6 quarters. At the start of the season the media ranked Geno as 32nd in starting QBs, after today he might be ranked at about 20. Yes I have been pleasently surprised and while his passser ratig is higher than Rogers, Josh Allan and Brady but I would need a lot more evidence before saying I expect Geno to perform better than those three for the rest of the season.
Jebus Cryst Jeg, Geno is only 4 games into this season, and HE'S DOING BETTER than Russell Wilson is doing for the Donko's-->CREDIT WHERE CREDIT IS DUE, and IN FACT, he's right up there with the BEST Quarterbacks in the NFL...HELLO??
He hasn't really been a starting Quarterback for what, FIVE slack seasons?
The guy has EARNED & DESERVES A-L-L the kudos from us TWELVES...The man is "hands down" kicking it in the ass for the Seahawks.

Well, you know I'm not a big Geno fan, Maelstrom, but I believe what my eyes tell me. And he's doing a damn good job so far. He deserves the credit.
I stick to my opinion that MVP talk is a little crazy, but oh well. Not that important. Just keep getting wins. I don't need to hear any of that tank talk. Screw that mess, winning is what matters.

Yep, forget about drafting a QB. Just ride with Geno since he's the answer. I'm sure it will end well.
PFF has him as the #1 ranked QB in the NFL

He isnt, but why are you writing him off? And I didnt say not to draft a QB, but maybe our strategy changes if he keeps this up.

Its ok to admit you were wrong. Digging your hole deeper typically doesnt........end well :)

If he does this against the Rams, Niners etc. I would like to think that Pitt would at least give the guy some props? Being wrong is a very good thing when it means your team is winning.

Got link to Geno being ranked at about 20?
NFL.COM had him ranked 26 before yesterday's game and he should be a good few spots higher with the next release (Due Wednesday). I think 20th would be a good guess for that.
https://www.nfl.com/news/nfl-qb-index-week-4-2022-season-rankings

Actually found another source 538, that puts him joint 11th among starting QBs (with Stafford and Prescott if you count him). I think that is a bit high I wouldn't put him above Burrows and RW yet (nor Tua, Carr or Foles but they are more debatable).

That's some writers opinion. Like an Op Ed about quarterbacks. The actual data shows otherwise.
Yeah, after reading that article, I'm trying to figure out what his methodology is. Does he even have one?

His whole thing against Geno was mainly him talking bad about the rest of the team. Is this a QB power ranking or a team power ranking? How did he drop Smith three spots after his best game (to that point) of the season?

Opinion counts too, but so do analytics. I personally used PFF and ESPN but there are other analytics out there.

When it comes to opinions, one does need to review the writers' credentials and experiences, in this case, there aren't much out there about the writer Marc Sessler. His bio on NFL.com said "Marc Sessler is a writer for Around the NFL and the voice of reason on The Around the NFL Podcast. He likes football. He's been a contributor to NFL Media since 2010." That's not impressive, sounded like his only qualification is "he likes football"???? Really????

While you're probably right Pitt, would it hurt to at least give Geno SOME props? Even a little bit?

He isnt playing bad at all. Actually he's playing pretty good, but lets not lose sight of who he really is.

I'll admit that i'm wrong when I actually am. If you think Geno Smith is going to be the answer, then you've already been fooled. Lets see him win against a decent team first before changing any strategies.
